Megan & Kyle’s Autumnal wedding in Nottingham
I loved photographing at Hazel Gap Barn in Nottinghamshire for Megan & Kyle’s beautiful autumnal wedding.
Hazel Gap Barn is an absolutely stunning rustic barn venue in Nottingham with a gorgeous red brick courtyard. The ceremony room is beautifully light & all the decor inside is just so dreamy.
I spent the morning with the girls at Megan & Kyle’s beautiful cottage in West Yorkshire before we headed to Hazel Gap Barn for the wedding!
Megan’s blush coloured dress from Shade Bridal suited her perfectly – I love the trend of non-white wedding dresses.
Megan & Kyle absolutely adore each other and it was a real joy photographing their wedding day.
Kyle’s Aunt, who happens to be registrar, officiated their ceremony which was lovely as it gave the day such a personal feel.
From literally dancing out of their ceremony to speeches that left the whole room in tears – it was a whirlwind of a day! And what better way to end a fantastic day than with some ceilidh dancing?
A few words from Megan & Kyle about their Hazel Gap Barn Wedding:
”How did you two meet?: I was studying photography at Huddersfield University and Kyle was studying Chemistry. We became housemates after moving into our student house in our second year of University. We started dating about three weeks after moving in together. Bit risky, but seems to have worked out.
Describe the proposal!: We went to Croatia on holiday. We were stargazing on a pier and after I while I got cold so I stood up to go inside, started walking away and noticed Kyle wasn’t following so I turned around to see what was happening and he was on one knee! (I totally knew it was going to happen by the way.)
What is special about your venue?: Hazel Gap Barn is so beautiful!
It’s going to look so cosy; with candlelight and the beams and the character of it. We love the rustic feel to it. We also like that our ceremony and reception will feel very intimate and special. With only our closest family & friends coming.
Any details of note about your big day?: I’m making the seating chart and place names. My aunt is making the cake for us. We don’t necessarily have a ‘Theme’, just an emphasis on it being cosy, autumnal and intimate. At our tables, each table is going to be given a different game/board game that is personal to the people at that table (usually because it’s a game we play a lot with that particular group of friends/family). They will get to play their games before the meal comes out. It would be quite nice to get a few reaction shots of people as they’re playing. If possible!”
