Alexandra & Jordan’s wedding at Manchester Art Gallery and Hotel Gotham

‘Gothic meets classic black-tie’ is how I would describe Alexandra & Jordan’s wedding day. Manchester city centre was the perfect dramatic backdrop for their winter wedding. Morning preparations took place at the stunning Hotel Gotham where Jordan and his groomsmen had access to the rooftop bar for some photographs, whilst Alexandra had a beautifully dark and moody suite which was perfect for the vibe of their day.

Their emotional ceremony took place just a couple of minutes walk away at Manchester Art Gallery filled with personal vows and a celebratory dance back down the aisle. We then quickly snuck off for 10 minutes of photos in the gallery before heading back to Hotel Gotham. In the evening, we all headed back up to the rooftop bar for cocktails and dancing. And of course, I had to grab Alexandra & Jordan for a couple of moody portraits just as the sun was setting behind the Manchester skyline.

A few words from Alexandra & Jordan:

How did you two meet?: We met on a job, we’re both actors, and whilst we originally met at drama school (Jordan was in 1st year whilst I was in 3rd year) we didn’t actually speak to each other whilst we were there. Then fast forward five years, we did a play together at the New Vic Theatre in Stoke and the rest, as they say, is history.

Describe the proposal!: Jordan, got down on one knee, in front of a huge crowd at the Glastonbury sign in 2021, pulled out the ring box from behind him, but managed to drop the ring. What transpired next felt like an eternity, but having watched the video (yes he planned for my best friend to video the whole thing) it turned out it was only about 30 seconds before he eventually found the ring (with the help of my best friend) and asked me to marry him.

What is special about your venue?: It’s freaking cool – getting married in an art gallery. We’ve stayed at Hotel Gotham before for Jordan’s birthday in 2019 and we both loved it. We were so pleased when we discovered they do weddings.
