Chloe & Alex
Congratulations to Chloe & Alex! Their alternative wedding at The Old Grammar School in Middleton was so much fun! Wolfie the dog did steal the limelight a bit during bridal prep though I’ll admit! Chloe & Alex’s friend was the celebrant at their wedding which made the ceremony so fun and personal. Thanks for having me there! It was such a fun and colourful day.
How did you two meet?: We met at The Witchwood back in ‘06, initially just friends and then a few years later we reconnected at a mutual friends birthday party.
Describe the proposal!: I really wanted to involve the kids so I set up the living room with balloons and flowers, and surprised the kids first. Chloe came home from work and I told her the kids had a surprise (she thought it was another dance routine) she walked in to the kids holding signs saying ‘please marry dad’ and me in the middle on one knee. In the background I had ‘skinny love’ by Bon Iver playing.
What is special about your venue?: The Old Grammar School has a lovely Hogwarts vibe to it that we love and it has loads of history to it as it’s around 600 years old (we believe)
Any details of note about your big day?: We’ve made the majority of the stuff, the main things are the centrepieces. The over all theme is ‘us’ and the things we love. The wedding is all about us celebrating who we are and the coming together of us both.
