Nicole & Andy’s wedding at the Fielden centre Todmorden, West Yorkshire
Nicole & Andy celebrated their wedding at Fielden Hall (The Fielden Centre Todmorden) in Todmorden, West Yorkshire which is just down the road from me! The perfect venue for an intimate & relaxed wedding. The hall itself is full of character with beautiful feature windows and being situated right next to Todmorden Park meant we could use the beautiful park for portraits.
Nicole & Andy told me: “We both wanted a small and intimate wedding. We’d been together for a long time and knew that we wanted to celebrate that with our closest friends and family. We have a connection with Todmorden, it’s a lovely part of the world and the people are the salt of the earth. We liked the fact that the venue is well used within the community and we were helping to support that by holding our wedding there.”
It’s been a real pleasure getting to know Nicole & Andy since they booked me to photograph their wedding around a year ago. Such a lovely couple and I just knew that their wedding would be beautiful and full of artsy DIY touches as Nicole had a background in illustration.
When I asked Nicole & Andy to describe their wedding plans to me, they said: “We did away with a lot of the formal traditions as we wanted the day reflect who we are as people.
No sit down meal, no table plan politics… just a simple stripped back party with our loved ones.” And their day was just as brilliant as it sounds!
A few words from Nicole & Andy about their wedding day:
”How did you two meet?: We met through mutual friends. The funny thing is that we were friends with the same people for many years and yet somehow our paths never seemed to cross!
Describe the proposal!: We got engaged in York on our anniversary. It was a freezing cold February night and we celebrated with drinks in a cosy pub.
What is special about your venue?: We both wanted a small and intimate wedding. We’d been together for a long time and knew that we wanted to celebrate that with our closest friends and family. We’re having a wood fired pizza buffet, a bar borrowed from the pub down the road and a Spotify playlist everyone contributed to!”
