Hello! I’m Maddie

(and that’s Lilly)

let’s get to know each other!

Northern lass / cat lady / hobbit

Hi! Let me share a bit about myself. I’m Maddie, a 30-something Manchester wedding photographer. You’ll often find me with my trusty sidekick, Lilly, my grumpy but loveable cat.

When I’m not busy photographing weddings, you’ll likely find me playing video games, board games, or writing my next Dungeons and Dragons session. My desk is a shrine to all things kawaii and pastel pink, and home to an unreasonable number of cute trinkets.

I’m a huge lover of Studio Ghibli films, (I have a tattoo of Haku from Spirited Away and some little Totoros!), it’s my dream to visit Japan one day. I love going to gigs because let’s face it, I’m an elder emo at heart. My favourite band of the moment being Ghost. And my go-to hot drink order has to be a matcha latte (with some kind of sweet treat!)

Me and my husband Jonathan live close by to Manchester city centre with our ever growing collection of board games. We had our own untraditional wedding in September 2024 on the Amalfi Coast. Just ourselves, 15 of our closest family members and lots of fantastic Italian food!  I love to travel when I get chance and have so far visited West Coast America, Australia, New York & the next plan is Japan which is my ultimate dream!

I’ve been a wedding photographer for almost 10 years now and have met some amazing couples and people (hence the photo of me bumping into John Cena at a wedding). Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing everything from laid-back city celebrations to colourful, offbeat parties and I love every minute of it. Each wedding brings its own story, and being part of those moments never gets old.

My approach

While my aim on your wedding day is to seamlessly blend in, it’s inevitable that we’ll be spending a good amount of time together. That’s why I believe it’s important for us to connect and for both of you to feel at ease with me! It would be wonderful to have a video call before your big day to discuss your wedding plans (or simply introduce me to your adorable pets). This way, we won’t feel like strangers when the day arrives.

I bring a natural, authentic, and unobtrusive approach to my photography. With 10 years of experience photographing weddings, I know how to be present without being in the way.
While you’re busy soaking up every moment of your wedding day, I’ll be discreetly capturing all the important moments. Although the majority of your day will be photographed in a candid, documentary style, I’ll also be there to assist with your family group photos and at some point, take some relaxed portraits of you both.

I love to let events unfold naturally, ensuring your wedding story is told with genuine emotion and authenticity. So when you revisit your photos years from now, you’ll be transported right back to that magical day.

“On the wedding day Maddie blended in seamlessly, she put us all at ease and guided us to get the best photos of our day. We are both camera shy, but with Maddie this feeling disappeared, we felt so comfortable.” – Dzintra & Brad
