Amy & Keith’s beautiful wedding in Bolton

Amy & Keith are both teachers, so it makes sense that they’d choose to get married at a school! Bolton School is a private school by day, but on select weekends it opens its’ doors as a spectacular wedding venue – and this is no ordinary school! Dating way back to 1516, Bolton School is a grade 11 listed building full of character & charm.
I spent a relaxed morning with Amy & her bridesmaids at her parent’s beautiful home (I had serious decor envy!). The wonderful Nala & Knot girls were on-hand with hair & makeup and Amy’s Dad was keeping us all entertained with his lovely toupee (fashioned out of some of Amy’s hair extensions!). We then jumped in some beautiful vintage cars thanks to Horgan’s Cars and headed to Bolton School.
Amy & Keith had their ceremony in the grand hall which has the most beautiful windows running all the way either side of the aisle making it a gorgeously light space. After photographs and welcome drinks in the courtyard, we all headed over to the Arts Centre Hall for speeches. The hall was decorated beautifully by the staff at Bolton School Weddings and Flowersmiths florist.
Bolton School has plenty of great spaces for wedding photographs! Me, Amy & Keith had fun wandering around the grounds for a few photos before I took them back to the grand hall for some more photos in that beautiful light! We then finally headed to the library which I was very excited about! A very fitting setting for two teachers.

Describe the proposal!: We were away on holiday in the Lake District and one night we were walking back from a nice evening in Stavely. As the sun was going down we sat on a huge rock and before I knew it he was down on one knee!

What is special about your venue?: It is a school and we are both teachers! Unintentional but a nice coincidence all the same. It is old and has lots of character.
