Claire & simon’s relaxed manchester city centre wedding
Just off Deansgate and by the canal-side, The Castlefield Rooms is a little gem of a venue. I love to photograph Manchester city centre weddings and Claire & Simon’s day was no exception. Claire & Simon had their first date at Albert’s Shed (the bar adjoining The Castlefield Rooms) so it was fitting to have their wedding right next door!
We started the day at The Hilton Hotel, Deansgate looking out over some fantastic views of Manchester. Hair and makeup girls, Nala & Knot, helped Claire & the bridesmaids look extra glamorous before we headed to The Castlefield Rooms just around the corner for the wedding. Claire & Simon’s ceremony was beautiful & intimate, both of them gave lovely readings to each other and there were a few tears!
As typical of Manchester, it decided to rain on us but I had my trusty brolly with me and we found plenty of sheltered spots for photographs. Once it cleared up, I whisked Claire & Simon away for 20 minutes or so for some relaxed portraits. It was really nice to walk with them around the cobbled streets and hear them reminisce about their first dates at Albert’s Shed.
I love Manchester city centre weddings because there are so many great backdrops for photographs! We were spoilt for choice between the cobbled streets, canals and industrial architecture of Castlefield.
A few words from Claire & Simon:
How did you two meet?: We met on dating app!!
Describe the proposal!: We were in Chester staying at our favourite hotel (Oddfellows) and went for dinner at our favourite restaurant (Upstairs at the Grill). After dinner the waiter brought over a large cake which had a sugar box on the top which contained the ring and Simon went down on one knee and proposed!
What is special about your venue?: Our wedding venue is part of the restaurant where we had our first date (Alberts Shed)
Any details of note about your big day?: Table decorations and table plan made by Claire. Our first dance was John Legend (All of Me) the first gig we went to was John Legend at the Apollo Manchester
