It’s always a true privilege to photograph the wedding of a fellow wedding supplier, so I was beyond excited when my friend Hannah, a talented wedding florist, asked me to capture her special day. Hannah and her husband Joe’s wedding at the stunning Didsbury Parsonage was a perfectly relaxed day.
The day began with Hannah getting ready at Whitworth Locke in Manchester, which offers the most incredible pink rooms – ideal for bridal prep photos! Afterward, the couple’s wedding ceremony was held at the Didsbury Parsonage, a venue known for its beautiful gardens and quirky charm. Afterwards, we took photographs in the Parsonage Gardens which provided the ideal backdrop for Hannah & Joe’s portraits.
As expected from a florist of Hannah’s skill, the flowers were absolutely stunning. FROG Flowers did a magnificent job with the ‘spring florals’ theme. The Didsbury Parsonage was full of colourful spring flowers and Hannah & Joe’s reception venue, Platzki on Deansgate, looked equally as beautiful with help from stylist Kate at Florence and Vera events.
For a wedding that is relaxed yet full of charm, the Didsbury Parsonage wedding is a perfect choice. It’s such a hidden tucked away from the busy centre of Manchester.

A few words from Hannah & Joe:
How did you two meet?: We met on Tinder. We were both a bit fed up of Tinder dates and were very pleasantly surprised when we met at the Dockyard in Media City. We hit it off straight away and were in there until it closed. The rest came easy and we spent the Summer of 2018 having the best time in and around Manchester.
Describe the proposal!: Joe proposed in the Isle of Skye. He surprised me with a trip there for my birthday. He booked a gorgeous little Airbnb and proposed on a hike around the Fairy Pools beneath the mountains. It was just us two, and the most stunning surroundings. We celebrated with corn beef & onion butties and iron bru whilst I quizzed him all about how he’d kept it a secret- it was perfect!
What is special about your venue?: When we talked about our wedding day, we wanted something intimate and relaxed. We explored a few different options in the North East. However, after a lot of research, we decided to come back to Manchester. Didsbury Parsonage was the first venue we visited and we fell in love with it straight away.
We love how it’s tucked away and has a real oldy world charm, almost a little William Morris-esq which is right up our street. We’ve always had a common love for old things, interiors and antique shopping and the parsonage and it’s cosy dark wood features, green exterior and stain glass just felt very us. I’d say we’re outdoorsy but love the city and the buzz of Manchester too. You’d never know you were only a stones throw away from city centre when you’re stood in the Didsbury Parsonage gardens and in the house, we love that – it’s the perfect mix of both.
Any details of note about your big day?: We don’t have a theme as such, we’ve just gone with what feels very us and designed the day around it being relaxed and easy going. Spring has a been a big influence with it being Easter Saturday and I guess we met in Spring, which is a happy coincidence! As a wedding florist, I’ve been lucky to reach out to some of my incredible supplier friends to help make our day extra special. I guess we had a little head start in that respect and have loved chatting with them about our plans, now it’s our turn.
We love our food and drink, so we’ve gone for an intimate wedding breakfast with our family and closest friends at one of our favourite restaurants in Manchester, Platzki. We can’t wait to enjoy a polish feast and enjoy reflecting on becoming Husband & Wife in a intimate, cosy setting – eating delicious food and being merry! It’s also a lovely nod to Hannah’s Polish heritage. For the reception, we wanted a space that again felt like us, and somewhere we’d want to spend an evening chatting & dancing with friends. We were instantly impressed by Whitworth Locke, it’s stunning glass entrance and interiors. The storehouse room is a great space to throw a big party and we can’t wait to get the disco balls hung & dance the night away with everyone we love and our favourite Manchester DJ from one of our favourite dancing spots, Arcane.
