Duddon Mill Farm Wedding
Molly & Jack’s festival wedding in Cheshire
You know Bilbo’s party scene in the Fellowship? That’s the kind of vibe Molly & Jack’s festival wedding had, and I absolutely loved it.
Molly & Jack met through their love of folk music and it was great to see them incorporate this into their day. There was lots of good food, folk music and a proper ceilidh!
This was my first time at Duddon Mill Farm and I absolutely loved it! A gorgeous setting for a teepee or marquee wedding and the on site cottages were beautiful for morning prep photos. The sun sets perfectly over the hill for golden hour portraits and there’s even an orchard for photographs. Although Duddon Mill Farm is close to Tarporley, it really feels as though you’re in the heart of the countryside. It’s so quiet and peaceful!
Molly looked like an elven princess in this very regal gown from Dotty Bridal and I loved all of her ethereal accessories including these golden ceilidh shoes (yes, shoes made especially for ceilidh dancing!)
It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know Molly & Jack and I loved being a part of their day!
Some kind words from Molly & Jack:
“Maddie these are incredible, we weren't expecting them so soon and I can't believe how much we absolutely love them.
Jack's exact reaction was "shit me Maddie Farris you're a genius and a wizard". Thank you so much, it was so lovely to have you with us on Saturday and we can't believe the incredible photos”
How did you two meet?: Through folk music and mutual friends
Describe the proposal!: At home in our kitchen on Molly’s birthday, just the two of us
What is special about your venue?: We’re getting married in Cheshire, where Molly comes from. The venue, Duddon Mill Farm, is relaxed and a spacious blank canvas for us to recreate the atmosphere of our favourite folk festivals, where we spend lots of happy time with friends and family.
Any details of note about your big day?: All the colours will be greens and purples. Molly, her mum and her godmother have made most of the decorations including all the ribbons, signs and floral rings. Molly’s mum Andrea will be doing all the table flowers, using glass bottles that Molly and her friends have collected over the last year or so and which Molly and Andrea spent a weekend spray painting gold.
Our first dance will be just before the ceilidh and the music choice is something that means a lot to us from the very early days of our relationship.
