GRUB Manchester Wedding

Grub Manchester Wedding

Aish & James

Aish & James’ wedding is the perfect reminder that you don’t have to book a ‘wedding’ venue for your wedding! There are plenty of cool and quirky event spaces all over Manchester city centre that host weddings and parties. If a traditional wedding venue doesn’t feel right for you, hit up your favourite food hall, brewery, gallery, restaurant or café!
Aish & James had their ceremony in the cinema room at GRUB by their good friend. We then headed outside for welcome drink and bubbles! (A great alternative to confetti!). Being a food market, I knew the food at this wedding was going to slap and oh boy it did not disappoint. There was a feast prepared by Is It Kitchen, plus the most amazing doughnuts by Bakehouse 32 for dessert.
After food, drinks and speeches the party continued back in the cinema room with karaoke which got everyone up dancing. If a first dance isn’t your thing, why not have a karaoke number together?

A few words from Aish & James:

How did you two meet?: We met on Tinder

Describe the proposal!: James proposed in Cartmel in a cute cottage before we went out for a nice meal at L’Enclume. He pretended to be desperate to get there early to meet the chef (even though he hates meeting new people!) so that we would have enough time to call our families!

What is special about your venue?: GRUB is fun, colourful and gives us options on which traditions we keep and which ones we can get rid of. We like that we can visit in the future, and we’ve been able to stop by lots of times over the past 18 months! We like that we’re not following a three course wedding meal and have lots of options to choose from for nice food.

Any details of note about your big day?: One of my best friends is performing the ceremony for us, we’ve got karaoke planned during the evening do, we get to pick the beers from local craft breweries who we enjoy and one of our food traders is our local pizza place.

A few kind words from Aish & James:

“Maddie is so amazing at what she does, we’re in awe of her talent. We were both a little apprehensive about being photographed all day for our wedding but Maddie put us at ease and put our needs first throughout. Our pictures are so gorgeous and perfectly reflect the day. She can find the perfect spots to get amazing pictures and gives gentle directions. She is also a lovely person and a wonderful presence to have on your wedding morning and during the day. We couldn’t recommend Maddie enough!”
