Sophie & Owen’s wedding

It was great to be back at Holmes Mill, Clitheroe for Sophie & Owen’s wedding.

This day was so incredibly stylish! The amazing Hannah Elizabeth did an incredible job with the flowers as usual! Sophie also did a lot of the décor herself – the orange colours and autumnal tones suited the rustic feel of Holmes Mill perfectly!
Sophie looked incredible in her Alexandra Grecco gown, such a stunning dress and those Loeffler Randall shoes! Owen, you looked pretty smart too!

Thank you so much to the wonderful Becki for assisting me on the day. We had a great time and a great nosey in the Bowland Food Hall on our break.

How did you two meet?: We used to work together at the creative agency where Owen still works. We became really good friends and it went from there!

Describe the proposal!: The proposal was intended to be whilst we were away in London in a fancy hotel for Owens birthday (I think). But then covid happened so it ended up being a few months later on my 30th which was just at our house (due to lockdown ha)!

What is special about your venue?: The venue is a brewery which Owen was particularly keen on and we both really like that it’s quite cosy and not overly formal. Also our decor is quite autumnal and wild (lots of dried flowers) so we thought that went well with the aesthetic!

Any details of note about your big day?: All of the wedding decor is pretty DIY (I’ve painted all the vases myself) and have worked really closely with Hannah (Grubisic) on the flowers and bought loads of different coloured candles to match the colour scheme so I’m really excited to see them all come together! There’s a pretty autumnal colour theme but other than that there aren’t any particular details I can think of! Owen is proudly Irish so the first dance is the Corrs so a bit of a fun/non formal one. I imagine it will be a pretty boozy day with lots of dancing and drinking as all of our friends are pretty up for it ha!

Hair : My friend Faye is doing it (she’s a hairdresser)
