Leeds Civic Hall Wedding
Megan & Ben’s micro wedding in Leeds
My first wedding of 2021!
It felt so amazing to finally be back to weddings earlier in the week when I photographed Megan & Ben’s micro-wedding at Leeds Civic Hall.
Megan & Ben had a small UK ceremony with two witnesses and are planning a bigger celebration in the US later in the year. I photographed their ceremony at Leeds Civic Hall, some family photographs after, and then we went for a walk around Leeds in the glorious sunshine for some relaxed portraits.
Here’s a little preview from the day! Thanks for having me Megan & Ben and best wishes for your celebrations later in the year.

A few words from Megan & Ben about their day at Leeds Civic Hall:
”How did you two meet?: Ben and I met online whilst I was studying abroad for 6 months London in 2017. We first met in person for the first time at the tube stop closest to my university.
Describe the proposal!: Ben came to visit me in the US for our one year university, April 11, 2018. For our anniversary we went to a nice restaurant in Pittsburgh and then went on the Duquesne Incline (a look out point of the city). Whilst we were looking out to the city view, Ben asked me to marry him and I said YES!
What is special about your venue?: Ben and I planned our big wedding for the US for September 2020, but unfortunately Ben and his friends and family couldn't not travel to the states because of COVID/the travel ban. Along with this issue, we were also doing long distance (again), for most of 2020. I had previously lived in the UK with Ben from September 2018 until January 2020 for my Master's course. By fall of last year we decided to start the immigration process for me to come to the UK for good and to FINALLY end long distance. This immigration process includes Ben and I getting married within 6 months of me arriving in England. With that being said, and with COVID restrictions in place Ben and I decided to get married at Leeds Civic Hall for our legal/small wedding ceremony. We like the city of Leeds and the building itself, as well as I did my post graduate course at Leeds Beckett University which sits right behind Leeds Civic Hall.”
