Pimhill Barn Wedding
Joyce & Tom’s relaxed barn wedding at Pimhill Farm, Shropshire
I recently visited Pimhill Barn in Shrewsbury for Joyce & Tom's amazing wedding!
Pimhill Farm in Shropshire is absolutely stunning. With gorgeous cottages, gardens, quirky outhouses and of course the barn I was really spoilt for choice for photographs!
Joyce & Tom had a beautiful hand-fasting ceremony in the barn followed by a relaxed afternoon tea. Lots of the decor for their wedding was collected from charity shops such as all the china table-wear & Joyce's mum grew a lot of the eucalyptus leaves which were used to decorate the barn.
Later on there were lawn games, plenty of dancing & a pizza van by Delicious Graze Pizza!
The wedding was full of beautiful warm tones, as Joyce kindly put it: "That is why I chose you as I could see you are consistent with these rich golden hues. Your photos have a beautiful depth to them that I loved."
I absolutely loved Joyce's beautiful dress from Along Came Eve Bridal Boutique and her flowers & flower crown from Wild Floral Design. The bridesmaid's dresses are from ASOS & hair was by Kelvin Lloyd-Roberts Pop up Salon.
Joyce & Tom have been together for over 10 years and I can tell that these two truly adore each other! It was so special to be a part of their day.
It was overall such a stunning DIY wedding and I would highly recommend Pim Hill Barn in Shrewsbury to any couples looking for an alternative & relaxed wedding venue.
A few lovely words from Joyce & Tom: “We were over the moon with what an amazing job Maddie did in capturing our big day. My passion is Art and having a degree in Fine Art the photography had to be right for our big day. I wanted someone who considered the composition, the light and what the bride and groom is trying to capture from their personalised day.
I discovered Maddie and was blown away, she projects heaps of personality through her work. One thing that was important to us was that the natural environment was captured. As we both have a shared love of the outdoors and walking. Maddie’s photography perfectly captures natural elements and celebrates natures hues.
Since our wedding we have been continually complimented on the beautiful photography. That was all down to Maddie’s incredible art. It a shame she doesn’t get to hear all the wonderful compliments she gets for her work as I know she is a very hard-working lady and deserves all the praise she gets for her work.
As you can see from our photos she absolutely nailed the brief and our personalities and we are so grateful to her to be able to look back at our special day with friends and family and be utterly happy with how the day has been captured. Thank you, Maddie. Love Mr & Mrs Clutton.”

Joyce & Tom’s thoughts on their Pimhill Barn Wedding:
”What is special about your venue?:
I was talking to my best friend Katie (bridesmaid) and said that my dream venue would be a barn with nature all around and red exposed brick but we have paid for all the wedding ourselves and saved up all year to pay for it, so its seriously budget and thought I was dreaming to ever achieve this.
Katie then said that I won’t believe her, but she knows a venue called Pimhill Barn that is exactly what I’m looking for, it even had the exposed brick!
It all felt too good to be true, Pimhill Barn really was within our budget so we thought it would be fully booked up, but we have been super lucky to secure our dream venue.
We wanted a venue that spoke for itself, we were doing it on a shoestring budget and skipping out flowers and the pretences and expectations that people have from a hotel wedding.
We knew with a barn we could keep the theme relaxed and cost effective and let the natural beauty of the venue do the talking.
I have a soft spot for Red brick. I wanted to see festoon lights in the barn. I am like a magpie to the warm glow of fairy lights. I think they look amazing against the warm brick and in photos.
Me and Tom have a shared passion and love and understanding of the outdoors. We both love forest and beach walks and are forever going on days out together in nature.
Any details of note about your big day?:
You could say our ‘Theme’ is Nature, natural aesthetics. Its wood, brick, foliage) This naturally picked out our colour palette for the bridesmaids and grooms. Bridesmaids are in green vine leaf embroidered dresses, with small splash of yellow on their tassel earing.
I suppose I looked at a palette of greens with small accents of gold (mustard) and oranges. That is why I chose you as I could see you are consistent with these rich golden hues. Your photos have a beautiful depth to them that I loved.
I have made a few bits as its a budget wedding, we are having afternoon tea in the day, we collected the China cups and saucer and teapots all year from charity shops but we found our friend gave us a lot too.
I have bought a writing desk and painted it and changed the handle for the cake to stand on and made confetti cones for the dried flowers from a Romeo and Juliet book. I made a few hearts with the book too. We are saving money on flowers and getting eucalyptus bunches instead. My mum has grown us some eucalyptus trees all year. My friend Dana bought us a vintage suitcase for cards.
I made the invites myself. I will be making a timeline for the day too.”
