Ellie & Connor are the sweetest pair and it was a real joy to photograph their day.

Ellie & Connor had their ceremony at Ellie's family's local church in Appleton Thorn before heading to Statham Lodge Hotel nearby Lymm.

It was my first time photographing at Statham Lodge and it was a fantastic venue to work at! Lovely & light inside and the gardens had plenty of beautiful Autumnal colour at this time of year.

It was great to see Milk Maids again during Ellie & Connor's drinks reception - would highly recommend the Biscoff flavour ice cream! And there was some great entertainment from singers Liam & family friend Libby Rose who performed a special set.

A few words from Ellie & Connor about their wedding at Statham Lodge:

How did you two meet?: We met at Newcastle University in first year in our halls on Richardson Road. Connor lived opposite and moved in later as he was a local student. We had a party to celebrate him moving in and I thought he had a great Scottish accent (he's a Geordie - oops). We became good friends and later started going out at the end of first year after a carvery first date.

Describe the proposal!: We were on holiday in Reykjavik. We had a lovely day exploring the city and went to the top of the Church. When we were waiting in the lift to go down I put my phone in Connor's pocket, felt a box and we both just burst out laughing realising what was in there and that I knew. But we didn't actually speak about it until later on when we went on a walk along the seafront and he proposed by the Sun Voyager statue.

What is special about your venue?: We're getting married in the church 2 minutes walk away from my childhood house. Me and all my brothers were all christened there. Since I met Connor we have been going every Christmas Eve for their carol service.
We were won over by our reception venue, Statham Lodge, when we went for our first tour around. We first visited in Autumn 2018 and the grounds were brilliant surrounded by autumn leaves, our favourite season.

Any details of note about your big day?: Lots of green, plants and leaves!

On the wedding morning, she was super speedy getting everything organised and getting as much squeezed in as possible in our short time before the ceremony. The weather was terrible but Maddie still got stuck in and even came armed with a lovely umbrella. She even ran outside after the groomsmen when they forgot the rain. She got all the pictures we wanted but knew that we wanted to enjoy the reception too (and it was chilly) so we weren’t outside for too long. The confetti shots and sparklers probably weren’t the easiest shots with 90 guests but she did an amazing job of getting everyone under control. We had so many nice comments about how lovely Maddie was and especially compliments on our wonderful pictures. There are so many beautiful moments captured that we didn’t see on the day. All of the pictures are great and we all had a bit of a cry looking back through them. “
