Ellie & Matt’s colourful wedding at Left Bank & Temple Newsam
I had so much fun photographing Ellie & Matt’s fun fiesta of a wedding! After their ceremony we headed to Temple Newsam in Leeds for a few photographs in the beautiful grounds there before heading in the vintage VW van to Left Bank Leeds.
Ellie & Matt had their wedding reception at the amazing Left Bank which is an alternative wedding venue in Leeds city centre. The Left Bank in Leeds dates back to the early 1900s where it was originally used as a church. Nowadays, it’s a fantastic quirky wedding venue in Leeds full of beautiful original features including stained glass windows, exposed brick walls and a super high dramatic ceiling.
Ellie & Matt are a couple who like to do things a bit differently (my kind of folk!) and when I rocked up to Left Bank I could see straight away why they chose this venue.
Ellie & Matt decorated the place with bright & colourful decor to match Ellie’s incredible flowers and flower crown. There were plenty of cacti, flamingos & paper cranes which added even more personality to this already super cool venue! The tables were named after rappers & Mexican street food was served for the guests. The evening do kicked off with a Leeds brass band covering all kinds of 90’s pop & dance tunes which everyone loved!

A few words from Ellie & Matt:
How did you two meet?: We were friends at school – we lost touch and met back up through a mutual friend, we’ve never looked back!
Describe the proposal!: It was really beautiful and intimate – he proposed at home and I had no idea, he’d really thought about what he wanted to say, it was so heartfelt and touching.
What is special about your venue?: We wanted to get married somewhere where we felt we were giving back, that was really important to us. Left Bank Leeds is an arts charity – we loved the feel of the space and the people who run it are really nice. We feel great knowing our special day has benefited a great cause!
Any details of note about your big day?: The theme is fiesta – fun, floral and vibrant!
