The Fleece Countryside inn Wedding

Sophie & James’ wedding day in West Yorkshire

Congratulations to Sophie & James on their beautiful wedding at The Fleece Countryside Inn, in Barkisland.

The girls had a fun, relaxed morning at Sophie & James' beautiful house with Kelly Hanks Hair Design & Janessa Benjamin Makeup Artist before heading to the incredible Halifax Minster for an intimate & emotional wedding ceremony.

We thankfully dodged most of the rain! Before arriving at The Fleece Countryside Inn in Ripponden for Sophie & James' relaxed wedding reception.

The Fleece, Ripponden is a very local venue to me (about 15 minutes away!) with beautiful views of the West Yorkshire countryside & a beautifully light reception room. Sophie made all the table decorations & stationary which looked amazing and fitted with the classic yet modern feel of their wedding.

Sophie looked absolutely stunning in her dress by Ava Rose Hamilton Bridal Couture & James looked very smart in his suit from Owen Scott Bespoke Tailors - love a classic looking suit!

A few words from Sophie & James about their wedding day:

How did you two meet?: We first met when James worked in Topshop, there was a particular day when he nearly fell off some step ladders when trying to ask if I was okay and if I needed any help.
The next time we met was by accident in a nightclub in Halifax... very classy! We had an instant connection and the rest is history!

Describe the proposal!: James told me we was going to Grasmere for a conference with his work, He told me that we would be meeting his then boss Tim and Janet his wife, as we was driving up to Grasmere Tim even rang to say they were running late and would be meeting us for an evening meal at 7. This gave us some time to walk around the town in Grasmere, James asked me on the small bridge, to turn around and let him take a photograph of me looking out onto the lake, when i turned back around he was on his knee and had thrown rose petal confetti all over me! He then asked me to marry him, Such a funny and lovely proposal just typical of James.

What is special about your venue?: The Halifax Minster is where James' parents were married and where he was christened, we wanted a church venue and this is one of the most beautiful churches in Yorkshire. Our reception venue is at the Fleece countryside inn in Ripponden, we love The Fleece and sometimes treat ourselves to eat and drink up there. It is local to where we live and in a wonderful venue and location.

Any details of note about your big day?: Our first dance is special to us because of our song choice, The Lumineers, Ho Hey had just been released as we were beginning our relationship. One of our first dates was to go see silver lining's playbook in which it featured.
I am really proud to have been so hands on when planning our wedding and have really enjoyed the creative side. All of the fine details and have been down to myself, the signage, table decorations and stationery.”
