Thirsk Lodge Barns Wedding

Imogen & Paul

I had an amazing time at Imogen & Paul’s wedding at Thirsk Lodge Barns recently! Imogen got ready at her family home which is the most beautiful cottage in the Yorkshire countryside. We all then headed to the sweetest church in Kirkbymoorside for the ceremony where Imogen and her family have spent a lot of time. It was my first time photographing at Thirsk Lodge Barns and I absolutely loved it! Lots of beautiful natural light indoors, and the courtyard is perfect for photographs!
It was lovely to work with Tweedle Floral Design again who did an amazing job with the flowers.

Thanks for having me there Imogen & Paul!

Describe the proposal!: Perfect! We went for lovely walk in the North Yorkshire Moors (where we are both from) and he proposed at the top of a hill over looking this beautiful view near the village I grew up in. He brought champagne and we had a picnic 🙂

What is special about your venue?: It’s stunning!! We both really wanted to get married in North Yorkshire and definitely in the countryside. Thirsk Lodge Barns was just being built/renovated when we started looking for venues and it felt like it was meant to be. The timing was perfect! It wasn’t even nearly finished when we booked it but it was definitely the one.

Any details of note about your big day?: Getting ready (bride) in my childhood home and getting married in the Church that I went to as a child. I was Christened, had my first holy communion and was confirmed there so it feels very special!
Not really a theme as such, we both just want the day to be really relaxed.
