Dewsbury Town Hall Wedding

Hayley & Adam’s small wedding at Dewsbury Town Hall

Congratulations to Hayley & Adam on their wedding at Dewsbury Town Hall!
Hayley & Adam bought their home together around a year ago, and decided to host a small reception afterwards in their garden with their nearest & dearest. They did everything themselves and with the help of friends and family and it was wonderful! Behind Hayley & Adam’s house are some woods and a beautiful park which was perfect for photos. A brilliant, chilled out day all round and if any other couples out there are considering having a garden wedding reception, I would highly recommend it! Thanks for having me Hayley & Adam and enjoy your preview.

A few words from Hayley & Adam:

”How did you two meet?:
We met in the gym in Holyhead in 2012 where Adam is from and I spent many happy years working on a nature reserve. Adam was giving me advice on my squat technique! We were friends for a few years and then I moved back to Bradford to start my PGCE training in 2014. We stayed friends and stayed in touch and after a few months, things progressed and turned into a four year long distance relationship and eventually Adam moved here in 2019 for us to start our new lives together.

Describe the proposal!: We had planned a shopping and dinner date in Liverpool on 28th April 2018 and had a great time roaming the stores. Adam said he had somewhere he needed to nip to and left me browsing the Disney Store. Unbeknown to me, he was off picking up the engagement ring he had ordered beforehand. We had a romantic stroll along the Albert Docks despite the pouring rain and then went up the Liverpool Eye where on the penultimate rotation, Adam got down on one knee (quite impressive given the rocking pod we were in!) and proposed. Upon departure, I skipped through the pouring down rain holding hands with Adam as I went along and was so very happy and absolutely soaked through!

What is special about your venue?: As many couples have had to, we had to postpone our original dream venue and after a while re-evaluated what was important to us and we decided to scale down and have a super sweet and intimate ceremony at our local registry office which is a building we both fell in love with and then have the ceremony at home. This is our first house that has felt like 'our home' so to be able to share that is really special and we absolutely love the park next to us.

Any details of note about your big day?: Cake Stand made by a family friend of Adam's Parents from their workplace - A charity that supports adults with learning needs.”
