I can't believe how gorgeous the weather was for Dani & Alister's Holdsworth House wedding! I was back at Holdsworth House Hotel & Restaurant & so happy to be able to photograph again in those beautiful gardens.

Dani booked me to photograph her & Alister's wedding what feels like such a long time ago now! We have been chatting about wedding plans for a while and it was so exciting to see it all come together for their special day.

One thing I loved about Dani & Alister's wedding was the tonnes of musical references to their day. The two got engaged at Leed's Fest and have seen Enter Shikari together 11 times! So naturally they had an Enter Shikari song as their first dance & as a reading during their ceremony. Never grow out of your emo phase.

How did you two meet?: We met on twitter back in 2011, we had some mutual friends in common and I saw his collarbone surgery scar and got talking (I have a heart surgery scar), the first night we texted all night and met in person 2 days later and the rest as they say is history.

Describe the proposal!: He was a little worse for wear at Leeds Festival and asked me, no ring, no thought process, I said yes if I could go to sleep and it became a bit of a running joke "have you ever got so hammered you proposed?!" a week later he got down on one knee in the rain on a hill and presented me with a beautiful diamond ring and a yellow rose. I don't really like yellow roses, I never have but the shop ran out of white, my favourite. The random yellow rose in my bouquet is a nod to that.

What is special about your venue?: We love Holdsworth House. It feels like a big pub. He really liked the wooden homely feel, I fell in love with the gardens and the setting. The food is unbelievable.

Any details of note about your big day?: Its taken us this long to get here, after being engaged 4 and a half years it almost doesn't feel real, the hydrangeas on the table are dried from Alister's mums and grandmas gardens, and I have a silly Burnley garter under my dress. Our favourite thing is our readings to each other are poems adapted from songs we like "Dear Future Historians" by Enter Shikari and "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against. Our first dance is an Enter Shikari song, Adieu which is our song, having seen Enter Shikari 11 times together.
