west yorkshire wedding photographer
Hi, I'm Maddie! A West Yorkshire wedding photographer that loves capturing authentic moments. My style is relaxed, natural an unobtrusive. It's my goal to take great photographs for you whilst also leaving you to make the most of your wedding day, so you can spend more time partying and less time posing.
I am based in Littleborough, but will travel the UK and beyond. I am a West Yorkshire wedding photographer which includes the surrounding areas of Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Ripponden, Barkisland, Huddersfield, Halifax, Keighley & Leeds. Having lived in the Pennines all my life, I am a little bit in love with the green hills, open space, dramatic scenery and of course the friendly people of West Yorkshire and it's fierce sense of community spirit and pride.
I've worked in local venues including East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley, Gibson Mill in Hebden Bridge, The White Hart Lydgate, Holdsworth House Halifax, Todmorden Town Hall, Fielden Hall in Todmorden, & more.
I've been featured on blogs such as Brides Up North, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, Adored Bride & Plans and Presents.
I love working in all kinds of wedding venues in West Yorkshire, but it makes my heart sing when venues have plenty of outside space for taking couple portraits!
I’m also a Yorkshire wedding photographer and am more than happy to travel further afield to wedding venues in North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales, Sheffield, Leeds & beyond!

Wedding Venues in West Yorkshire
Are you currently planning a wedding and searching for your wedding venue in West Yorkshire? There are so many beautiful & unique wedding venues in West Yorkshire covering all different kinds of styles & budgets. From rustic barns to manor houses, industrial mills and teepees! Here a few of my favourites - hopefully this guide will help you in your wedding planning!
East Riddlesden Hall is a beautiful rustic barn venue in Keighley, West Yorkshire just outside of Bradford. The venue is a National Trust Site and the staff are just superb! The Airedale Barn where you can have your wedding ceremony & reception is over 400 years old! The beautiful wooden beams are such a stunning feature of this venue that it really needs little dressing or styling.
You can read more about booking your wedding at East Riddlesden Hall on their website.
Fielden Hall is a real hidden gem of a wedding venue in Todmorden, West Yorkshire which I would highly recommend if you are planning a low-key wedding where you want to d.i.y most of the day. Fielden Hall is licensed so you can have your ceremony & reception there and the back of the Hall looks out on to the beautiful scenery of Todmorden Park.
You can read more about weddings at Fielden Hall on their website.
Gibson Mill in Hebden Bridge is another quirky wedding venue in West Yorkshire which is also a National Trust site!
The mill has so much character as is surrounded by the beautiful woodland of Hardcastle Crags. I would definitely recommend this wedding venue for nature lovers! The mill is also off-grid and generates all its own power so if you are looking for an eco-friendly wedding venue this may be the one for you!
You can read more about weddings at Gibson Mill here.
Todmorden Town Hall is another unusual wedding venue in West Yorkshire which I feel is sadly overlooked! Todmorden Town hall is perfect for those on a budget who are still looking for a beautiful wedding venue. The ballroom where weddings are held is huge! And has so much character with its distinctive round windows. Todmorden Town Hall is perfect for couples who are looking for a relaxed, d.i.y wedding. The ballroom also features a stage if you are looking to entertain your guests later with a live band!

Holdsworth House in Halifax is a great option for couples who are looking for a historic wedding venue that feels grand but still cosy and welcoming. They can cater for all sizes of weddings from 10 to 120 guests. My favourite part of Holdsworth House are its walled gardens which look absolutely beautiful in the Spring and Summer.
You can read more about booking your wedding at Holdsworth House on their website.
Huddersfield Town Hall is a great venue for smaller weddings in West Yorkshire. You can choose to have a simple registry office style wedding here, or opt for a bigger wedding with catering. Huddersfield is a great town in West Yorkshire (and where I went to uni so I know it well!) and you don’t have to travel far to get to some beautiful countryside for photographs.

The Tetley in Leeds is perfect if you are looking for a quirky Yorkshire wedding venue! The Tetley is full of stunning art deco features which date back to 1931, perfect if you are looking for a wedding venue with more of a vintage feel. The Tetley is based in Leeds city centre and can cater for small and bigger weddings.

The Fleece Inn in Barkisland is a country pub wedding venue near Halifax, West Yorkshire. The pub has on site accommodation, a fantastic restaurant feature classic Yorkshire dishes and a huge balcony with amazing views of the Yorkshire countryside. The Fleece is a quintessentially Yorkshire wedding venue, perfect for anyone who wants a country pub themed wedding with that little bit of extra sophistication.

Wedding Venues in Yorkshire
Here are some of my favourite Yorkshire wedding venues a little bit further afield from my home-turf. I’m always happy to travel!
The Priest’s House, Barden Tower, North Yorkshire dates all the way back to the 15th century, so if you are looking for a Yorkshire wedding venue with history & charm this could be perfect for you! Wedding ceremonies can take place in the stunning chapel (pictured) and afterwards you and your guests can have your drinks reception in the beautiful gardens which have stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.
You can read more about booking your wedding at Barden Tower here.
The Black Swan, Helmsley, North Yorkshire is a quaint 15th century pub venue situated in the small market town of Helmsley. The pub has a beautiful little private garden at the back for photographs and the pretty town of Helmsley itself has plenty of great photo opportunities including Helmsley Castle.

Wood Lane Countryside Centre is situated just outside of Sheffield city centre. This former farm house now serves as a base for nature conservation and also makes a fantastic wedding venue for nature lovers! The building itself is full of lots of little quirks, I personally love the red doors and round windows, and there is a large courtyard and gardens for photos. It really feels like a peaceful escape from the city.

The Craven Arms, Appletreewick, Yorkshire Dales is another charming pub venue. The Craven arms features a beautiful 15th century Cruck barn perfect for small, relaxed weddings. The pub is in the middle of the countryside and features stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales - plus they do amazing pies!

The Woodlands Hotel is conveniently close to Leeds city centre. The hotel has 23 rooms and the option to book for complete private hire so you can have the hotel & grounds all to yourself! The main thing I really love about the Woodlands Hotel though is the ability to have your wedding ceremony outdoors in the beautiful grounds of the hotel.

If you’re looking for an unusual Yorkshire wedding venue, then Left Bank in Leeds may be perfect for you! Once a church, Left Bank dates back to 1907 and has stunning architecture and features inside with a dramatic, high arched ceiling. The space inside is perfect for medium to larger side weddings, and has an amazing dancefloor space if you’re the type of couple who love to throw a party!

Leeds Town Hall is perfect if you are looking for a registry office venue in Yorkshire. The building itself is stunning with tons of character and original features and being situated right in Leeds city centre means that you can easily have some fun creative photos around the city after your ceremony.

The Venue in Halifax is the perfect wedding venue if you are looking for something a bit rustic. With exposed brick walls and wooden floors, The Venue has plenty of character and is perfect for relaxed, DIY style weddings. It’s a lovely light venue which is perfect for photos and dog friendly!
